Day 2 of PGL has started on another sunny day!

We had some eager and early risers this morning at 6.30am who were sent back to bed for some more sleep for the day’s activities!

We woke everyone up at 7.30am with a knock on the door and got changed ready for the day’s activities. We were met by our PGL leader Kane who took us to the dining hall for our breakfast; where we were greeted with a choice of cooked breakfast, cereals, toast and fruit!  From breakfast we went back to our dorms where we applied suncream and waited downstairs on the grass to be collected for the morning’s activities.

Our first activity was archery. We learned how to fire a bow and arrow and had plenty of practice shots to test our aim. We played a team game based on point scoring and a pizza game where each ring of the archery target was one of our favourite toppings we had to hit!

Following this we walked to the vertical challenge. A high ropes climbing activity involving ladders, tyres, a climbing wall and nets. We got harnessed up and had our safety checks ready to climb the wall! We have been fantastic at trying activities out of our comfort zone especially involving heights… Lots of us had a go and faced our fears and some of us even made it to the top of the wall – which was very high!

Lunch today was a beef burger and fries which we were all very pleased with! We have had some free time on the field playing football and sitting in the shade. We have lots of big smiles ready for our next activities which are zip wiring and rifle shooting!

This afternoon we all got the chance to shoot air rifles at targets in the range. We all had several practice shots before playing battleships and seeing if we could aim and sink the ships, we had drawn on our targets. We then played a game where we followed a rhythm by shooting our guns to match the beat. We then walked down to the zipline. We put on our harnesses and helmets, had a safety talk and demonstration and made our way one by one up to the zipline. After a short but exciting ride we all made it to the end of the zipline with big smiles!

Tonight, for our last activity we have had laser tag. We had a great time in the battle of the blue team against the red. We had a great time dodging lasers and running around. We even had some interesting attempts at camouflage.

We are now all back in the room getting ready and settled for an early start tomorrow
