Dawn House School Welcomes the Community for the 2025 Mikey’s Wish Foundation Family Fun Day

On Saturday 21st June, Dawn House School was filled with joy, excitement, and a true sense of belonging as it proudly hosted the Mikey’s Wish Foundation Family Fun Day 2025 – a heartwarming event designed to support and celebrate families of children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

Mikey’s Wish Foundation, founded by Mikey and his family, is a charity dedicated to raising awareness of speech, language and communication needs, while promoting inclusion and providing support for children and young people who may otherwise feel misunderstood or isolated. Their mission is to ensure no child is left without a voice, and events like this are a vital part of that mission.

This year’s Family Fun Day brought together families, friends, and professionals from across the region in a day packed with smiles, shared understanding, and inclusive activities for all ages.

🍽️ Food & Fellowship
Families were invited to bring their own picnic or enjoy food from a variety of local vendors, adding a delicious touch to a relaxing, social atmosphere.

• Personalised Medal Ceremony – Every child celebrated for who they are
• Football Matches & Games – Building teamwork and confidence

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 For the Grown-Ups
The day wasn’t just for children – parents and carers had the opportunity to connect with other families on similar journeys, share experiences, and speak with professionals in the field. The welcoming and understanding environment gave families a chance to relax and enjoy time together, knowing their children were in a safe and inclusive space.

This Family Fun Day wasn’t just about entertainment — it was a celebration of inclusion, communication, and community. Thanks to Mikey’s Wish Foundation and the staff and volunteers at Dawn House School, it was a day filled with laughter, learning, and love.
