Stags Shine Bright on the National Stage!

Today, our incredible football team had the honour of representing Mansfield Town FC at the Premier League Disability Cup 2025, held in Liverpool – and what a day it was!

The competition kicked off with the group stage in the morning, where our team showed skill, determination, and teamwork in abundance. Out of six matches, we secured five wins and one draw, topping our group in style and progressing into the elite main cup group stage.

In the second round, things stepped up a level – but so did we. Facing the winners of other groups, our team rose to the occasion, defeating Everton, Burnley, and Wrexham in three back-to-back victories, earning a place in the semi-finals.

With confidence high, we met Wrexham again and delivered another commanding performance, winning 3-1 and booking our place in the final.

The final match was a nail-biting affair against a strong Everton side. After a tightly contested game, it ended 0-0, and the winner would be decided by the dreaded penalty shootout. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be our day, as we were narrowly defeated on penalties.

Despite the heartbreaking finish, the pride we feel in our pupils today cannot be overstated. Their behaviour, sportsmanship, and passion were nothing short of outstanding. Representing Mansfield Town FC on such a prestigious stage was an unforgettable experience, and they did us all proud.

Well done team Dawn House School!
