Our vision: Working towards successful futures
Monday 5 May for May Day and reopens Tuesday 6 May and our Spring Bank Holiday half term break begins on Friday 23 May with school reopening on Monday 2 June. This half term includes various assessments for KS4/5 children which we always try and support calmly and with as little stress as possible, important both at school and at home.
Also this half term some students are benefitting from skiing lessons at Swadlincote Ski Centre, KS3 students are off on the PGL residential next week and the latest cycle of life skills in our carousel – ask your children to tell you about what they’re doing this half term – swimming? Mini medics? Health and fitness? Orienteering and team building? The list goes on!
Parents of children not going on the PGL trip next week will receive information today about the timetables the children will be following next Wednesday- Friday and children will be informed next week.

Bags to school – next collection is 10th June.
Please send in clothing, paired shoes, bags, hats, bedding and jewellery.
Not only are you raising money for our school, but you’re also helping to reduce waste in landfills and are having a positive impact on the environment.
PLEASE DONOT BRING BAGS INTO SCHOOL BEFORE THE DATE ABOVE
Our Easter raffle was won by Jamie and Dillen! A big well done and Happy Easter to them!
The Easter Raffle raised £168.65 – thank you so much for your support. This money has been donated, following a pupil request, to the Warhammer club. This started with generous donations from home and has already had a huge impact on the young people accessing it – new friendships, great communication opportunities, problem solving…another endless list and a cause we felt was a great one to support. Thank you to Otis and the group for setting this all up.
£149.30 was made at the Mothers Day sale. Some great gift choices were made – we would love to have your feedback!
September 2025
As our school grows, we will be implementing some changes in the new school year some of which we will be trialling this term. Through this newsletter I will keep you informed and children will have information shared through tutor time. Discussion at home about potential changes will be really useful in helping children know what to expect and also enabling you to share with us, any concerns they may have. Please look out for September 2025 updates.

If your child leaves home in the morning a little unsettled and you want to quickly tell us, so we know to expect a tricky start to the day, a quick email (that we can follow up later) to the tutor and/or core team with ‘Handle with Care’ in the email title will ensure that we are aware.
