Principal’s message to families – 10th October 2025
Good afternoon from the Dawn House School INSET day. Today staff are doing First Aid training, Team Teach training to learn how best to support the behaviour of our children, and lifeguard training so that more of our children can enjoy swimming.

We have a new date for our Family Fun Day – Saturday 16th May! Please add this to your diaries. We will circulate a reminder nearer the time and this will be just like the one planned for September, but with sunshine!!
We celebrated Hello Yellow day this week in support of the Young Minds charities mission to raise awareness of young peoples mental health. The wellbeing walk was a highlight of the day for pupils and staff, reminding us how good it is to get out into the fresh air when we can.
The Pupil Leadership Group also met for the first time this year. These latest group of school leaders discussed what their role in school will be and shared their ideas for the year ahead. Do have a look at their comments on the school website about why they wanted to be a part of this group- they have some really great reasons!

You will be getting requests soon to support our Christmas Fair which is on our Parents Day on Saturday 29th November. The Friends of Dawn House are always keen for parents to join us in our planning and preparation so do let me know if you are interested.
As you know we break up next Friday and children return to school on Tuesday 4th November.
Short and sweet this week so we can take advantage of a quieter than usual Friday in school, but we look forward to seeing your children back on Monday.

If your child leaves home in the morning a little unsettled and you want to quickly tell us, so we know to expect a tricky start to the day, a quick email (that we can follow up later) to the tutor and/or core team with ‘Handle with Care’ in the email title will ensure that we are aware.
