Our vision: Working towards successful futures
Looking forward to seeing those of you who can come to Parents Day and the Christmas Fair tomorrow. This is our most attended Parents Day ever, so it’ll be a busy one!
This is a real highlight of the year, a really good opportunity for you to hear how school is going for your children, have some fun on the stalls and spend some money! If you are bringing your children, we do expect that you are responsible for them at all times. Staff are here to run the events, not look after your children on this day.
On arrival you will be given a map and a plan of your meetings with staff. We ask you to stick to your appointment times where possible. SLG will be circulating to catch up with you all and support if any issues arise. We might also hurry you along if meetings are running late!
Parking will be busy. Staff have been allocated spaces to park and should be here before you arrive. Please use all available space to park and do so safely and with consideration.
If you do end up needing to park off school site, PLEASE be considerate of our Helmsley Road neighbours.
Thank you for your support of this event- I think we’ve had more donations than ever for the Fair!
Looking forward to a great day, and a Monday off for everyone.
*Monday 1st December – we are closed to pupils* (please do ensure your children’s taxis are aware, otherwise they’ll be waking you all up early!)
Amazon Wish Link
Don’t forget our Amazon wish list if you would like to show your appreciation to Dawn House School this Christmas. Every little helps 😊
Some of the items requested here are to stock up our Attention Autism buckets. Attention Autism is an exciting, multi-staged learning approach which aims to develop attention, communication and social interaction skills in young people. This irresistible opportunity to learn aims to develop attention by targeting prolonged engagement, shared attention, shared enjoyment and spontaneous communication, through exploration of stimulating, motivating items.
Thank you for your support and Christmas treats for the school.
That’s all for today, just a reminder to save the date for the Christmas performances:
Thursday 18th December
Details will follow next week.
Last but not least, in case you haven’t seen it, here is our newly released Residential Ofsted report– well done to the residential team and everyone involved!!
Bye for now,
Jenny
If your child leaves home in the morning a little unsettled and you want to quickly tell us, so we know to expect a tricky start to the day, a quick email (that we can follow up later) to the tutor and/or core team with ‘Handle with Care’ in the email title will ensure that we are aware.
