Ski Adventure: A Week to Remember in Samoëns
Snow, Smiles and Success on the Slopes ❄️⛷️
The very first Dawn House School Ski Trip was a huge success, giving pupils an unforgettable week in the beautiful alpine village of Samoëns. After arriving and settling into the chalet, pupils explored the village, collected their ski equipment and prepared for their first lesson up at 1600m.
Throughout the week, pupils made fantastic progress on the slopes, supported by excellent instructors and beautiful weather. Confidence grew each day as groups explored more of the mountain, with several pupils even skiing from the very top. Daily highlights included scenic mountain lunches, lots of teamwork, and well-deserved “Skier of the Day” awards recognising effort, attitude and improvement.
Mid‑week brought a relaxing rest day, including a wander around the village market, a lovely meal out, hot-tub time and two birthday celebrations. Evenings back at the chalet were full of good food, games, films, laughter and a few unforgettable wake-up calls — from ABBA to accidental early alarms!
The final day included a last ski session, medals and certificates from the instructors, followed by an Awards Evening celebrating everything from Fastest Skier to Best Fall. After a week of learning, adventure and fun, everyone returned home safely, tired but proud, with memories that will last a long time.
