Principal’s message to families – 17 April 2026

Welcome to the Summer Term!

April 23, 2026

This week has already been busy with a pre-visit to PGL for KS3 students to have a look and be prepared for their residential at the end of April. This is always such a fun experience for our children ( and staff!) but can be a little daunting for those who haven’t often been away from home before, Hopefully the pre-visit takes away any anxiety and creates a real sense of reassurance and excitement for the trip.

Our Summer menu has started this week and has really gone down a treat. The quiche yesterday was amazing! You will have heard on the news that there are new government recommendations about school dinners. This half term we plan to hold discussions with our pupil leadership group, wider class groups and parents to gather views about how we could improve our lunch offer in line with new guidance. Please do look out for questionnaires coming your way- its really important to us to hear your views.

Next week we have the Wellbeing themed house event on Wednesday morning, which we are all looking forward to. Groups will take part in some physical exercise to promote positive mental health, do some relaxing self care, spend some time with our animals, learn about school role models and the benefits of good sleep and also spend some time being mindful. Sounds like an amazing day and a lovely opportunity for children to mix with each other in their house groups for a change. Children will get information about this in good time to be prepared.
