Our vision: Working towards successful futures
Today we excitedly await the return of our KS3 PGL travellers! They may arrive back a little damp as canoeing is the final activity for their residential today, followed by some time to spend their money in the PGL shop!
It looks like they’ve had a great time as you can see on the school website. I can’t wait to see the water antics from today.

I also end this week by completing the final day of my March jogging to raise money for Dementia UK- a little delayed by having a holiday in the middle, but I did it and intend to carry on with this as part of my fitness routine. Thank you so much to all of you who supported me!
In other, much more extreme running news, we look forward to hearing from Daisy Geary, sister of Joel who was a student here a few years ago, and who ran the Manchester marathon for us last weekend. Now THAT’S a real achievement!
We have some additional staff celebrations this week with Sarah Throup and Andrea Robinson both successfully completing their National Professional Qualifications (NPQs). I’m sure they will be closely relating to those students in school who have started their assessments and exams in school this week.
A reminder:
As the weather gets warmer, can I draw your attention to the message sent out by Emma Oram, on Weduc, reminding you to send in suncream for your children and hats and water bottles so they can keep cool and hydrated. It is also important that children continue to dress appropriately for school. There will be a reminder about uniform and expectations coming very soon and examples of uniform available on Sports Day along with order forms ready for the new school year. School uniform is a great way for children to feel part of Dawn House School – you’ll notice more and more staff are also enjoying wearing some of the kit too, particularly the PE tops when they join in with sport.
Some information for you …
…understanding your children’s needs:

…and about your children’s safety around water, following several recent tragic incidents reported in the news, one very locally.
I finish by wishing you a lovely Bank Holiday weekend and we look forward to seeing your children back at school on Tuesday 6th May.
Jenny
If your child leaves home in the morning a little unsettled and you want to quickly tell us, so we know to expect a tricky start to the day, a quick email (that we can follow up later) to the tutor and/or core team with ‘Handle with Care’ in the email title will ensure that we are aware.
