Family Support

Here at Dawn House School we very much value the contribution parents and carers make in supporting their children to achieve their very best.

On admission to Dawn House School the information that parents and carers share with us about their children is crucial to ensure that we can get to know them and can support their transition into school as well as possible. School staff communicate with parents through their preferred medium, whether by telephone or email and planned face to face meetings.

Home school communication is a vital link to share information, both school to home and back again.

There are regular virtual Coffee & Chat meetings with the Principal which bring parents together informally which can offer general support and information. Each Friday the Principal reflects on the week in school, sharing highlights and essential information with parents and carers through a Parentmail.

In addition to the home school communications the school has an established Wellbeing Team who are able to offer more individual support and guidance to families.

The Wellbeing Lead can make visits to meet parents away from school to share information, for example to listen to any parental /carer worry or concern, to work together to complete any benefit applications , or offer guidance around future options and transitions.
