Horticulture

Horticulture is defined as that branch of agriculture concerned with growing plants that are used by people for food, for medicinal purposes, and for aesthetic gratification. Pupils will acquire the practical skills to plant and care for plants.  Broad beans, Winter Pea, Tomatoes, Sweetcorn, Salads, and a variety of Herbs are all just some examples of crops that students will be able to plant and have the option of taking home some of the harvested produce.

Students will also learn the types of weekly maintenance needed in the garden area and learn how to use everyday garden tools in a safe and independent manner.
